“From a Communist Doctor to Madonna’s Cone Bra: Museums and Cultural Diplomacy in Troubled Times” A Talk with Dr. Anne Dymond, University of Lethbridge PUBlic Professor Series

Thursday 2 October
6 – 8 PM

Dr. Anne Dymond explores the mobilization of Canada’s art and museums for political purposes, starting with Canada’s engagement with China in the early 1970s. Her lively presentation of fascinating objects reveals how in troubled times, art and museums can act as bridges that connect us across challenging divides.

Presented in collaboration with the University of Lethbridge PUBlic Professor Series.

The PUBlic Professor Series, launched in 2014 by the Faculty of Arts & Science, is a key part of community outreach by the University of Lethbridge. The lecture series is designed to spark thought-provoking discussions and bring a diverse group of experts and researchers from the University campuses into the communities that they serve.  Find more information at: www.ulethbridge.ca/research/public-professor
