Mia Feuer and Dr. Grant Deane in Conversation

Join artist Mia Feuer and San Diego-based scientist Dr. Grant Deane as they each speak about their artistic and scientific projects. Feuer will discuss her research of the post-natural landscape and the resulting environmental changes that inspired her new artwork, Mesh – a visual and sonic project spanning three geographies (Svalbard, Calgary, and Miami). Deane will present his collaborative research on sources of underwater sound around an Arctic glacier in Hornsund fjord, Svalbard, including the sounds of melting ice and calving. Their short presentations will be followed by a moderated conversation about how their respective projects came together in Mesh.
