The Alcove Centre for the Arts (The Alcove) is a non-profit organization that curates art & recreation social spaces in Calgary. Our goal is to open a full time facility where we create a welcome, inclusive, and social environment! This summer we are hosting a series of events to provide a proof-of-concept of what a full time facility would look like.
Antyx Community Arts is a community arts company that uses the arts and community development processes to create opportunities for youth to become more engaged in their community and experience increased community connection.
For the month of August, The Alcove will be collaborating with Esker Foundation on a creative series inspired by the artwork in RELATIONS: Diaspora and Painting currently on exhibition at Esker. Aligning with the themes in the exhibition, The Alcove x Antyx event will be exploring themes of roots, identity, history, culture and colonialism.
