Turn Me On | Date Night with Suzanne Presinal
Inspired by the work of exhibiting artist Jon Sasaki, for this online edition of Date Night we ask the question: how can we manage to switch on and off in a time when “on” seems to be the default action?
Join local artist and maker Suzanne Presinal for an evening of creative exploration where we will be switch and shift makers. Using found objects and materials, we will begin by making a switch and grow from there. Sound, movement, hardware, imagination, and a delightful meal will be our ingredients for revelry and revelation.
Sign up with a friend or a date and connect with us while you make together.
A small supply kit containing a switch, wood scraps, wire and nails will be available to pick up at the Esker Foundation prior to the workshop.
A list of other suggested materials to have on hand will be sent to participants upon registration.
For this online Date Night workshop, Esker is partnering with Paper Lantern, a new Vietnamese street food restaurant and tiki bar in Calgary’s Chinatown neighbourhood. Paper Lantern will be offering Date Night participants a selection of savoury treats ($35/couple) sure to delight your taste buds and/or a bespoke cocktail kit ($25/couple) to be picked up at the restaurant the day of the program. Menu options and details will be shared upon registration, for any questions email Parisa Radmanesh at [email protected]
This workshop will happen on Zoom, MST.
Registration essential, please reserve a space for each participant.
