CREATE TOGETHER: Make Your Own DIY Ukulele with Minds in Motion

Join facilitators Nicole and Liz from the University of Calgary’s Minds In Motion STEM program for a workshop inspired by Mel O’Callaghan’s exhibition Pulse of the Planet. Learn about the science of sound, and make and decorate your own playable ukulele from recycled materials.

Minds in Motion programs are designed to foster an excitement about the fascinating worlds of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Ignite your curiosity with Minds in Motion! MIM is a network member of Actua.

Create Together invites families to explore themes together in our current exhibitions through collaborative art-making, and creative experiences. Often inspired by the work in our current exhibitions, each workshop introduces new mediums and techniques in all art forms.

Families are asked to bring:

  1. 1 empty rectangular tissue box
  2. 1 paper towel roll OR 2 toilet paper rolls (no paper on them)

Dress for mess!

Register 1 ticket per family (3-5 members). Recommended for families with children up to 12 years old. Parents/guardians participate for the duration of the program.
