KIDS STUDIO: Make Your Own DIY Ukulele with Minds in Motion
Join facilitators Nicole and Liz from the University of Calgary’s Minds In Motion STEM program for a workshop inspired by Mel O’Callaghan’s exhibition Pulse of the Planet. Kids will learn about the science of sound including acoustics, pitch, and standing waves, and will make their own playable ukulele from recycled materials.
Minds in Motion programs are designed to foster an excitement about the fascinating worlds of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Ignite your curiosity with Minds in Motion! MIM is a network member of Actua.
Kids Studio (AGES 8–12) is a series of hands-on workshops for children aged 8 to 12 where they independently explore creativity through process-based art making, movement and play. Parents or guardians are not required to be present for the duration of the program.
Kids are asked to bring at least one medium-large cardboard box, but more cardboard is great, if you have it!
Registration and parent/guardian consent essential. Parents or guardians are not required to be present for the duration of the program, although it is recommended for this program.
