All Ages Drop-in: Trans & Non-Binary Community Quiltmaking with Levin Ifko
Saturday 5 October, 11 AM-4 PM
We invite individuals identifying as trans or non-binary to join Project Space artist Levin Ifko for a collaborative community quilt making session.
Participants will be encouraged to drop in throughout the event to create a design on fabric, to then be added to a larger “community” quilt – made by and for trans people who call Mohkinstisis/Calgary, and the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta home.
The goal of this event is for folks to meet, connect with other trans and non-binary folks in the city, and create a larger quilt that brings together the art, ideas, and perspectives of the trans community at this moment. Quilt-square contributions can be joyful, angry, hopeful, or simply commemorative of your experiences in this moment and context.
Folks that do not identify as trans, non-binary, or gender expansive are welcome to join trans-identifying participants as guardians, caregivers, friends, family, and allies.
All Ages, under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Registration date to be announced.
