Embroidermation
Caitlin Thompson
In this workshop, Project Space artist Caitlin Thompson will introduce participants to the feedback cycles of embroidery and animation. Both processes rely on sequential bits of information (stitches and pixels) in order for the final piece to hold together. Embroidermation, a term coined by animator Nina Paley, combines both animation and embroidery. Each participant will be given a printed image of an animation frame, which they will embellish with stitches learned in the workshop. At the end of the day, all of these embroideries will be combined together to make a short, looping animation!
Registration essential.
