Looking into Windows with Laura Dutton

In conjunction with the exhibition Night Comes On (on view 1 May – 23 July in the Project Space), Laura Dutton discussed her work and its relationship to notions of urban voyeurism. The window, which is a reoccurring theme throughout Dutton’s practice, will be explored as a symbol of liminality – a threshold between us/them, inside/outside, public/private. Her treatment of the photographic image as an object and her interest in light as both material and subject matter will be discussed in relation to unconventional processes employed in previous works.
