Make your own Horror or Animal Mask

Jillian McDonald

Jillian McDonald’s latest horror-themed video artwork features over 50 actors in animal masks. Masks appear frequently in horror and science fiction and represent powerful, anonymous, uncanny, and frightening characters. In this workshop, participants will draw inspiration from masks in films and other sources to create their own papier mâché masks. Materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring feathers, hats, shells, leather, wool, fabric, fur, horns, teeth, or any other specialty items they would like to include in their masks. Feel free to bring fancy dress costumes for a fantastical group photo. Participants must be over the age of 10 to participate in this workshop.
