Like everything alive that we try to hold forever is curated by Elizabeth Diggon, Naomi Potter, and Shauna Thompson. The exhibition is organized by Esker Foundation and produced as a traveling exhibition by Independent Curators International (ICI).

Lucia Hierro is a Dominican American conceptual artist born and raised in NYC, Washington Heights/Inwood, and currently based in the South Bronx. Lucia’s practice, which includes sculpture, digital media and installation, confronts 21st century capitalism through an intersectional lens.
A black shed is gradually filled with lanterns made by the artists throughout the exhibition. Appearing as luminous versions of everyday objects, these lanterns represent belongings found in the artists’ childhood home on Calgary’s Edelweiss Road, in which their parents still reside.
